|Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga with postures, or asanas, that are held for longer periods of time? 2 - 5 minutes more.
Yin Yoga targets and stretches both the deep connective tissues between the muscles, and the fascia throughout the body.
The aim is to increase circulation in the joints and improve flexibility as the poses stretch and exercise the bone and joint areas.
It also helps us to regulate the body's flow of energy.
Yin Yoga is very relaxing and restorative.
Be guided into seated or lying poses that are held for approximately 3-5 minutes.
Remove effort from the muscles and allows access into the joints, fascia, and tendons to optimize mobility and release stagnant energy blocks.
This class is especially good for quickly improving flexibility and restoring calm in the mind.
Moving at a significantly slower pace, this class takes on a more meditative quality and sense of turning inward.
Great for beginners and advanced yogi's looking to deepen their practice with more stillness.
Recent studies find evidence that people who practice Yin or Restorative Yoga can lose significant amounts of weight.
Yin and Restorative yoga has long been touted for its ability to decrease stress, help people heal from illness, and increase flexibility.
Researchers have not yet concluded why Yin and Restorative Yoga seems to be so helpful for weight loss, but one theory is connected to cortisol, the stress hormone.
