Restorative Hypnosis Practice
Restore Inner Balance
Restorative Hypnosis is a practice using the synergy of four powerful modalities working together to promote growth, change, and healing.
A session is composed of selections from gentle movement (anyone can do it regardless of age or physical ability), breathwork (to calm or balance), visualization (with intention), and self hypnosis (with intention).

A typical class might be:
2 minute energy meditation, 18 minutes of gentle stretching, 15 minutes of breathwork with visualization, 25 minutes relaxing group hypnosis session (find your secret, safe place)
25 minutes of follow the leader Qigong movements, 10 minutes mantra meditation, 20 minutes relaxing group hypnosis session (intention: release stress)
20 minutes gentle stretching, 5 minutes calming breathwork, 35 minutes Yoga Nidra effortless meditation (destress affirmations)
20 minutes of follow the leader Qigong movements, 5 minutes mental balancing breathwork, 35 minutes Yoga Nidra effortless meditation (destress affirmations)

This practice can release deep tensions and holdings in the entire body-mind through profound physical, mental and emotional relaxation.

 
 
Mindfulness
What is mindfulness?
Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we're doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what's going on around us.

While mindfulness is something we all naturally possess, it's more readily available to us when we practice on a daily basis.

Whenever you bring awareness to what you're directly experiencing via your senses, or to your state of mind via your thoughts and emotions, you're being mindful. And there's growing research showing that when you train your brain to be mindful, you're actually remodeling the physical structure of your brain.



Who should practice mindfulness?
Anyone can do mindfulness practice. There are no barriers. It doesn't matter how old you are, what your physical ability is, if you're religious or not.

Mindfulness is not obscure or exotic. It's familiar to us because it's what we already do, how we already are. It takes many shapes and goes by many names.

We all already have the capacity to be present, and it doesn't require us to change who we are. But we can cultivate these innate qualities with simple practices that are scientifically demonstrated to benefit us in many ways.

 
 
Focused Breathing
What is focused Breathing?
Focused breathing is about being mindful in your body while you are having an experience.
You are not sitting down to breathe and then witnessing your breath.
You are living life and bringing your awareness to your body as it tenses in conversation,
 as you hold your breath while walking,
 as you become nauseated from fear while walking into your boss's office.
It's about being/living in y our body as you live your life.
It's about connecting with your experiences instead of numbing yourself through stress.
Your brain-body connection is only a breath away.


Is focused breathing meditation?
Focused breathing is not meditation in any traditional sense.
It is mindfulness.
It is a bit different in that it is about being mindful in your body as you experience life.

Finding Solutions
Finding a Solution Using Hypnosis

Guiding yourself to a solution is like following a map
Your subconsious knows the route through the various steps. All you need to do is get your consciousness out of the way.

The Problem:
I have a task that needs to be performed but the method alludes me. I look at the problem and wonder, what to do? Where to start? How do I manipulate my surroundings for this job to see fruition? Knowing what I have to accomplish my task, the process starts.

The Strategy:
The best approach to finding a solution is to sit back and relax and let the unconscious "I" work it out. Mindfully playing with the variables at hand, I hold the problem in focus, then let it go.

The Work:
My responsibility is to insure that my physical body is relaxed, my emotions are at peace and my mind is still. In this state of openness, I wait, remaining attentive to the images that float through my consciousness, unconcerned yet curious.

The Process:
As a thought, an impression or a feeling, my higher self, "I" releases the solution to my problem, which is as exacting as a mathematical formula. The solution seeks fertile ground on which to land so that it can complete the communicative process. It is through my mind, my emotions and my physical body that the result is delivered.

The Reward:
"I" releases the solution on it's journey to me. As if being set afloat on sound waves, the solution must successfully pass through each part of me to be physically realized.
From "I" it goes through my unknown self, interacting with my hidden self, gaining vibratory momentum and adjusting itself so that it can best be acknowledged by me.
The solution floats out from the subconscious like the sweet return of a long lost friend.
As the solution lands on the fertile soil of my mind, I am awakened to the mental stimulation. The solution gains strength as it sifts through my emotional self. I begin to feel the answer rise. Mental pictures and images interact with feelings and hunches as the solution finds its voice. Then, my physical self can fully absorb the solution integrating into my consciousness and I am able to manifest the solution so gracefully given by my higher self.

All conscious problems have solutions. All solutions are known to our unconscious selves. All we need to do is relax, trust, and allow the process to complete.
Simple yet complex, just follow your map.

Having practiced gentle movement first, you can drop deeper into a relaxed, meditative state, the goal of yoga.

Tai Chi for Your Health
I practice and teach a gentle, mindful style of Tai Chi.
Sometimes called "Chinese shadow boxing," Tai Chi is a gentle, healthy form of exercise that involves a series of flowing, graceful, slow-motion movements designed to harmonize the circulation of "chi" or vital energy around the body.
The term "Tai Chi" refers to the energy achieved by perfectly balancing yin with yang - held by Traditional Chinese Medicine to be the two essential forces of the universe.

Tai Chi is a wonderful form of mental and physical stimulation, great for overall health.
Like yoga, Tai Chi is a good method of stress reduction and relaxation, and it promotes flexibility, balance, and good body awareness.
It is beautiful to watch and do, and may be particularly good for mature people, because it reduces risk of injury from falls.
